I am originally from Middlesbrough in the North East of England. I learnt to sail in the Solent as a child when visiting family and continued to sail at home, where I began racing at a local sailing club and school sailing teams. I started teaching water sports in 1999 and after graduating from St Martins College Lancaster in 2002, decided to make sailing my career. This brought me back to the Solent in 2004 and made the Isle of Wight home. I’ve sailed and raced many different kinds of boats, from Toppers to Farr 52s. Competing in numerous Cowes Weeks and Solent events. More recently I ran a boat claiming 2nd in class and 2nd overall in division at the Antigua Sailing Week 2008. Back at home my time is taken up by running Pelican Racing and managing a pro team in the Laser SB3 fleet.
