Hello racers!
This week promised a big wind race but yet again it dropped, but the racing was close and some boats "maybe" had a great result.

There is some controversy with the race on Tuesday, the situation is very complicated but the ISC have asked that if anybody knows which boat was in front and behind them as they crossed the finish line in the mouth of the river, could they e-mail or ring Chris Thomas

The 121st Annual Island Sailing Club Regatta

We are starting to have some interest in this event so please feel free to give us a call or drop in for any more information.

On the 3rd and 4th of July the ISC will hold there 121st annual regatta. This a great event which the Pelicans debuted in last year, the racing is round the cans like on a Tuesday but usually 3 or 4 races a day. The event is fun but as always raced hard.
We are offering this event to you (the Tuesday night fleet) first so please book your place soon.

The Pelican SB3 with all the usual things and excluding entry will be £400 for the 2 days of racing. As you are already racing with us we will offer you a 20% reduction (therefore £320!) but this offer will end on the 10th June.

SO RING NOW!

Last year the club organised a great bbq and party, with a pirates theme which Pelican racings own Ash Holmes took the best dressed prize!

GENERAL NEWS
We have really seen an increase in business this year and in a good way we keep getting busier........
Tracking
The IncaX GeoCasting GPS tracking has leapt forward in results and we have had a Eureka moment. Next week for Race 9 we will be tracking all the boats so please go to the tracking part of the site and download Silverlight, which is needed for the mapping, and get your families and friends to sit down with tea and biscuits and enjoy the show. When you get home the tracks will be saved so you can log in and scrutinise your racing tactics.
We can really see a future for this technology, with the Round The Island Race being our goal.
Thank you for your support during our past testing and i am sure the trials to come.
A new partner for Pelican Racing .................Magic Marine
We at Pelican racing are very excited about becoming a retailer for Magic Marine sailing clothes. We are very impressed with the brand and feel it suits the active sailing needed for the SB3. At the moment we have a small collection of gloves, hats and T-shirts but we can get anything from the catalogue within 2 weeks, if not quicker. The stock is on show in the office so feel free to try things out and broswe through the catalogue. The full range can be seen at www.magicmarine.com
Round The Island Race 2010
This year we will have 11 Pelicans going round the island!!!  The SB3 (Turquoise fleet) start is at 0520 this year just in case you wanted to watch the start down on the green.
On Friday the youth GB team will be training in our boats with Olympians Paul Goodison and Shirley Robertson before embarking on the race the following day with their Volvo and Pelican branded boats.
IOW radio will be hosting their shows all day from the yacht Haven and giving updates on the fleet and of course Paul Topping, Heather, Carol and Phil's Pelican 13. The main stage will have a large screen which are planing to show the tracking on LIVE, as well as on line. One of our boats will be near the stage so money can be thrown in for the help Gracie May walk charity. http://www.iwradio.co.uk/jp-morgan-round-the-island-995942

Thank you for all your support!

So if you are sure of the boats that sandwiched you at the finish line on Tuesday please notify the ISC.
See you next Tuesday and make sure your supporters are surrounding the computer for the 1900 start time.....

Topic : Getting a regular crew together

Hi guys

I've just had a word with a couple of people who sailed this years Tuesday Series and are keen for more. I mentioned there are people looking for crew for Tuesdays.

I've sent them in the direction of the forum so you can all get together and see what works.
